Please note: we are currently not taking any more tiny house build orders at this time but are still actively designing tiny homes whether on wheels or on permanent foundations.
Oregon Cottage Company follows a multi-step process to ensure your new Tiny Cottage is built with quality craftsmanship exactly the way you want, from co-operative design right up to delivery.
1. Consultation
We start with a consultation with Todd to understand your needs and desires so that we can customize your Tiny Cottage. For this, we charge $90 per hour. Schedule a consultation to get started.
2. Questionnaire
We need a completed client questionnaire so that we can get to know you prior to your consultation. This helps us to better understand your intentions, creative visions, and needs.
3. Design and initial deposit
We then design your Tiny with plans and elevations to determine a budget. This process requires a $1,000 deposit that goes towards your Tiny Cottage purchase. This also holds your position in our building queue.
4. Contract
At this point, we put together a contract that includes a contractual agreement, a detailed “scope of work” and an itemized budget so you can see exactly what you are getting. You’ll also receive a set of design drawings.
5. Installment payment
With the signed agreement, we request a deposit of 50% of the total cost so we can order the construction materials and trailer.
6. Trailer construction
We supply our trailer manufacturer with detailed drawings of your trailer so they can begin your mobile foundation. Once the trailer is on site (usually three weeks), we can start building your Tiny Cottage. You’re on your way!
7. Construction
This is when our craftsmen are hard at work for you. It takes approximately 14 weeks, depending on the complexity of your design.
8. Installment payment, 25%
Once your Tiny is completed, we require a third installment (one quarter of the total cost). At this point, your Tiny is ready to be picked up.
9. Delivery and final payment, 25%
Upon pickup, we require the final payment.
